Experience the comfort and sustainability of the "Bathing in Coziness" residential space, designed by Wanmei Space Design Studio. With a focus on sustainable principles and a "less is more" design concept, this project showcases the use of natural materials and a thoughtful approach to minimize waste and create a better environment for future generations.
Unique Properties
What sets this design apart is the subversion of the traditional design process. The designer has used existing objects to explore innovative presentation techniques for the space. Classical furniture with intricate contours serves as the main visual theme, complemented by the layering of simple and modern frames. This combination creates a sense of comfort and carefree living, making this residential space truly unique.
Realization Technology
The "Bathing in Coziness" design embraces the concept of a breathable house, reducing solid wall partitions and replacing them with virtual walls. Natural solid wood, veneer, and marble are carefully selected to preserve the original look and feel of the materials. The television wall features a natural mineral sand coating, sculpting a textured and organic aesthetic.
Specifications
This project spans 185 square meters, providing ample space for comfortable living.
Interaction
Upon entering the space, the amber-colored foyer cabinet and dark brown sofa chair become visual focal points, accentuated by the pure white marble. Natural light streams in through the French windows, creating a refreshing and bright ambiance throughout the interior.
Location and Timeframe
The "Bathing in Coziness" project was completed in 2019 in Taichung, Taiwan.
Research
Extensive research and communication with the homeowner led to the development of a design that prioritizes spaciousness and multiple spatial layers. The foyer, living room, dining room, and kitchen are seamlessly connected, creating a wall-free concept. The use of penetrative grid screens in the foyer creates an illusion of reality and virtuality, while the marble low wall in the kitchen and living room defines the boundary between the two spaces.
Conclusion
The "Bathing in Coziness" residential space by Wanmei Space Design Studio showcases the perfect blend of comfort, sustainability, and innovative design. By embracing natural materials, thoughtful space planning, and a unique presentation approach, this project creates a harmonious and inviting home environment.
